Mondoweiss:
"The New York Times commitment to Zionism begins with its own staff. [The paper] has helped to enable and sustain Israel’s ongoing genocide. A new dossier reveals the close ties of 20 top editors, executives, and journalists at the Times who have covered Gaza and their connection to Israel and Zionism.

We are putting The New York Times on notice. Since the Zionist genocide in Gaza began over 20 months ago, the 'paper of record' has run cover for Israel’s war crimes. We have witnessed the Zionist entity drop 2,000 pound bombs on displaced Palestinians forced to survive in tents, massacre starving Palestinians at aid sites, arrest and torture Palestinians accused of fighting back or administering care, destroy Gaza’s entire healthcare system, obliterate almost every one of its schools and universities, damage over 90 percent of residential buildings, and block food and supplies from entering the besieged strip. But New York Times journalists have chosen to ignore, whitewash, distort, or justify each one of these crimes. As much as any weapons manufacturer, The New York Times is a part of the machinery of war — producing, in the realm of public opinion, the impunity that enables and sustains Israel’s ongoing genocide."

-->The NYT is moving, as is NPR. But were have they been over the last year and a half? They have been covering up for Israel's genocide. And congratulations to the NPR "roundtable" which had its first Palestinian on the program today.

Common Dreams:
"ADL-Backed Bipartisan Bill Threatens to Censor Israel Criticism on Social Media. The bill’s lead sponsors described it as part of an effort to prevent antisemitic hate. But their comments during a press conference on the measure suggest it will also target critics of Israel. Free speech advocates are raising concerns that a new bipartisan bill would force social media companies to censor criticism of Israel on their platforms.

Reps. Josh Gottheimer (D-N.J.) and Don Bacon (R-Neb.) rolled out the bill, called the Stopping Terrorists Online Presence and Holding Accountable Tech Entities (STOP HATE) Act, at a press conference Wednesday, alongside Jonathan Greenblatt, the CEO of the Anti-Defamation League (ADL). ... Independent journalist Glenn Greenwald—a critic of government efforts to regulate 'misinformation'—suggested that the bill flies in the face of the right's supposed commitments to free speech. 'There was [a] full consensus on the Right for the last decade that Big Tech censorship was a great evil, especially if pressured and demanded by the U.S. government,' he said on X. 'All that changed [when] it came time to censor for Israel.' "

-->The NYT is playing it safe when it comes to media and Israel. Of course, the paper should have covered this story.

The Intercept:
"It was Tuesday, June 10 when Khalil heard from neighbors that an aid truck had arrived a few kilometers from where he lived in Deir al Balah, Gaza. By then he had already lost about 45 pounds since the war began in 2023. With his brothers and a friend, Khalil set off on foot. On the walk over, the 26-year-old could hear intermittent shelling, but the promise of food, he felt, was worth the risk. ...

When they arrived around 6:30 a.m., a huge crowd was gathering at the aid point in Netzarim. 'People start heading there before sunrise because the lines get impossibly long,' Khalil said. Thousands had clearly gotten the same tip. The sheer amount of desperate, hungry people was overwhelming. Khalil said, 'I hadn’t eaten properly in days. I was dizzy and weak.'

Khalil quickly noticed military presence. 'We saw the Israeli soldiers in full military uniform standing next to their armored vehicles. We arrived knowing the place was dangerous. But, there was no clash, no threat to them,' Khalil said. ...

He stood in line with hundreds of others. There were children, women, and elderly men. 'Some were barefoot, some had been waiting since the night before,' he recalled. As his group inched closer to the point where they hoped they would be able to grab a parcel of items, gunshots rang out. Khalil ran for his life. 'They began shooting directly at unarmed civilians,' he said. 'The bullets were chasing us as if we were targets on a shooting range, and not just hungry people. We scattered under a hail of bullets."

-->Too bad, the NYT can't bring itself to tell this story. It provides some similar stories, but continues to blame the starvation on Hamas and price gouging by sellers.
