"Sheldon Adelson, the Nevada casino mogul and conservative mega-donor, is leading a campaign against pro-Palestine groups on US college campuses and has funded a group that has publicly accused individual students of supporting terrorism and promoting 'Jew Hatred'.
The multimillion-dollar effort, which has launched at six campuses in California, is targeting the boycott, divestment and sanctions (BDS) movement that has become increasingly popular among American university students protesting the Israeli government.
At the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA), recent posters named 16 students and professors, saying they 'have allied themselves with Palestinian terrorists to perpetuate BDS and Jew Hatred on this campus'. It further claimed BDS was a 'Hamas-inspired genocidal campaign to destroy Israel.' ”
-->The mainstream media is largely silent about this vicious attack on freedom of speech on the nation's campuses. Pro Israel elected officials, fat with Israeli lobby contributions, are more then willing to sell out our Constitutional rights. The NYT didn't cover this story.

"The UN secretary-general has called for the appointment of 'eminent person or persons' to pursue an investigation into the death of his predecessor, Dag Hammarskjöld in a mysterious 1961 air crash in central Africa.
Declaring 'this may be our last chance to find the truth' Ban Ki-moon sent a note to the general assembly, saying there were enough unanswered questions arising from the crash to warrant further investigation and that the responses of the UK, US and Belgium (the major powers in the region at the time) to a UN request for archive material 'do not appear to alter' that conclusion.
In particular Ban noted that the UK had stuck to its position last year that it had no further documentation to show the UN investigation. He appended a letter sent in June by the British permanent representative to the UN, Matthew Rycroft, saying 'our position remains the same and we are not able to release the materials in question without any redactions.' "

Perhaps the truth about his assassination at the hands of a UK and US special operations team is just too damning. If the head of the UN can be murdered by the CIA, why not JFK and Martin Luther King?

"Venezuela's leftist president Nicolas Maduro told a crowd of supporters Saturday that the turmoil of recent months in progressive Latin American countries are the result of 'an imperialist attack on all,' teleSUR reports.
In his speech, Maduro referred to the impeachment process against Workers' Party president Dilma Rousseff—widely decried as a 'coup' by many observers—and the recent murder of a Bolivian vice minister by striking miners.
'It's an imperialist attack against all,' said Maduro, according to teleSUR. 'From Venezuela we will fight the coup of the oligarchy.'
Maduro compared the current situation to Operation Condor, the brutal U.S.-backed campaign that killed and 'disappeared' leftists and installed repressive rightwing dictatorships in Latin American countries in the 1970s and 1980s."
-->Again, Reuters and The Associated Press cover a story, but not the NYT. The NYT considers itself an important part of imperial propaganda. It would never report a story that challenges the Pentagon's version of events in Latin America.
